Director of IT – Full Time

Crown Point Christian School has an immediate need for a full time Director of IT

Purpose of the Position
  • The Director of IT will define and plan an Information Systems strategy in collaboration with school leadership.
  • The Director of IT is responsible for implementation of all aspects of the IT strategy including budget, network infrastructure, security, process and procedures, and system administration.
  • The Director of IT will mentor, equip, and inspire technology staff as they work together to advance the CPCS mission.
Qualifications 

Experience, Training, and Licensure

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology from accredited college or university.
  • Level 2 or higher IT professional with minimum of 3 years experience as a Support Technician.
  • In agreement with Crown Point Christian School Statement of Faith.
  • Active member/regular attendee of a church that aligns with CPCS Statement of Faith.
  • A servant-leader whose conduct exemplifies Biblical principles, personal integrity, and professionalism.

Professional Profile

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to translate technical information to a non-technical user.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and staff.
  • Passionate about integrating technology into education.
  • Strong managerial, leadership and instructional skills.
  • Solid critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Work closely with school leadership at a tactical level to define and plan the Information Systems strategy.
  • Provide visionary guidance to the development of technology-based initiatives and collaborate with Administration in evaluating, selecting and implementing technology materials and programs.
  • Translate goals and objectives into project deliverables; then plan, direct, and coordinate projects.
  • Manage budget and resources to develop, implement and maintain systems and infrastructure.
  • Apply analytical techniques and processes to support reporting and decision support systems.

Systems and Network Administration

  • Oversee setup, configuration, administration and maintenance of network infrastructure with a focus on service levels, security and process improvement.
  • Ensure Information Security across the organization, including some aspects of physical security where needed.
  • Inventory all systems, identify system owners, and develop and communicate system maintenance and administration procedures.
  • Create and maintain change management processes such as administering change requests, approvals and scheduling.
  • Responsible for configuration management processes such as tracking and controlling changes to systems.
  • Maintain, operate, administer and support systems, software and infrastructure.

Leadership and Instruction

  • Maintain all subordinate employees, providing guidance and direction in daily activities, performing annual reviews, tracking job performance and professional growth goals.
  • Promote use of technology to support student achievement.
  • Provide leadership, staff development and instructional support of all staff.
  • Assist Administration with curriculum and technology integration projects.
  • Provide staff with essential support needed to complete technology-based instructional management and productivity functions.
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff to support, manage and optimize the use of instructional software to support quality teaching and learning.
  • Gather and disseminate information relevant to instructional technology including research about advancements in technology tools and resources.
  • Maintain relationships with outsourcing partners including procurement and contract management processes.
Position Details 
  • Salaried, contracted employee – 12 month
  • Reports to the Head of School.
