Director of Admissions – Full Time

Crown Point Christian School has an immediate need for a Director of Admissions.

Job Description

The Director of Admissions represents and markets the school to parents, prospective parents and the community in order to bring in new students and retain current students. He/she manages the entire admissions process and events from initial inquiry to enrollment to integration into the school.

The Director manages the part time Media Coordinator, overseeing all print material, online advertisements, website, social media and in-school video presentations. He/she oversee the aesthetic presentation and marketing of the school building, in conjunction with the Development Director and the Facilities Manager. The Director coordinates details of all admissions events including content, set up, refreshments, team assignments, etc.

Job Qualifications

The Director of Admission and Recruitment will be a dedicated Christian as evidenced by church involvement, and an eagerness to demonstrate a Christian walk with the Lord. The Director must have a thorough understanding of, and agreement with, the mission, philosophy and pedagogy of CPCS including the Reformed perspective. He/she must be able to explain CPCS mission and vision in a compelling way. The Director must possess outstanding skills in: verbal, visual and written communication, proactive decision making, teamwork and collaboration, flexibility and adaptability, emotional maturity and stability, strict confidence and team leadership. He/she must be able to think strategically and innovate to develop admissions and retention efforts. Must have a persuasive personality, be highly sociable and able to sustain high levels of energy over extended periods. The Director must be tech savvy, able to effectively and efficiently utilize the FACTS Admissions tool, both Google and Office Suite applications and graphic design programs as required by the position.

Job Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement marketing and family retention plan
  • Research and initiate opportunities to attract new students through networking and marketing
  • Develop and implement efforts toward public relations for CPCS

General Recruitment & Retention

  • Build network of relationships with outside institutions or groups (schools, churches, civic associations) that assist in attracting quality students
  • Develop relationships with sister schools in the area
  • Work with Head of School in creating positive experiences for prospective and current families through tours, events, chapels and community events
  • Work with CPCS faculty and staff to organize specific retention efforts at the key grade levels
  • Gain the respect and trust of CPCS parents and other parties and provide a positive influence in their decision making process for admissions. 

Manage Media Coordinator

  • Develop / maintain all promotional materials
  • Manage event communications
  • Manage the school’s website and social media channels
  • Assist CPCS staff and faculty in development of clear, professional communications with families
  • Provide regular feedback regarding performance and perform annual evaluations

Admissions Management

  • Follow up with visitors and online inquiries, leading them to apply
  • Schedule and conduct tours and open houses
  • Lead families through the admissions and enrollment process
  • Coordinate admissions testing
  • Secure necessary documentation for application and enrollment
  • Communicate admissions decisions in professional and timely fashion
  • Maintain and improve school relationship with current families
  • Coordinate and maintain continuous enrollment process.
  • Maintain data on a daily basis related to inquiries, applicants, admissions, enrollment, withdrawals and attrition – to be communicated to Head of School and as requested, to the Board
  • Create process review and improvement

This Director of Admissions will report to the Head of School.
